Meng Yang, a Chinese comic artist/illustrator/writer. He began as a TV scriptwriter, then transitioned into visual storytelling - creating comics, graphic novels and concept design revolving around humanity deconstruction
using heavy ink, brushes and hard-lined chiaroscuro.
Drawing inspiration from Eastern and Western cultures, Meng is now working on his very first graphic novel – Apus. Which story unfolds in an 18th-century-inspired fictional world about two outcasts struggling their way out of the cycle of hatred. When a civilization expands, others are inevitably destroyed. In this tide of history, the experiences of certain individuals may seem insignificant, yet compared to the masses, they carry immense weight. The purpose of Apus is to document the stories of such people resisting the currents of their time.
